Mr. Reggie Miller was born in Newark, New Jersey. He was raised and educated in Orange, New Jersey. He graduated from Orange High School in 1985 where he was member of the First Team Group 2 All State Basketball Team. Upon graduating from Orange High School he continued his education at St. Thomas Moore Prep School in Connecticut. Mr. Miller then proceeded to Rutgers University where he received a full basketball scholarship. During his freshman year at Rutgers tragedy struck. He was temporarily paralyzed due to an injury he sustained while playing basketball. Soon after, he realized that this temporary paralysis was not due to the injury but due to a medical condition. He was unable to continue to play basketball. He remained on a full scholarship and graduated from Rutgers University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.
Mr. Miller possesses a strong belief in giving back to the community through youth mentorship as well as education and prevention programs. He has initiated various programs to empower at risk male youth. He is the creator/founder of A FEW GOOD MEN – Orange, an organization of prominent community leaders committed to mentoring young males within the neighborhood. The purpose of A FEW GOOD MEN is to teach and inspire others through workshops and outreach. He has also extended this organization to Zion Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey where he is an active member and serves on the usher board as president.
Mr. Miller is also the founder of RM Motivation serving as a motivational speaker at schools, colleges, sporting and business events.
For over 30 years, he has been inspiring and encouraging youth to be the best they can be. Through presentations and motivational speeches, based on practical experiences, he instills in individuals the necessity of being positive and proactive in their own lives, to improve themselves and in turn become a positive influence in the lives of others.
Mr. Miller has the knowledge and experience to lead programs on a wide variety of topics as well as deliver the keynote address for meetings. He recently retired as Program Director for the Male Student Support Program. This school-based program was a partnership between Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and Orange Public Schools addressing the psychosocial challenges impacting minority male students.
